Wasabi Tuna Melts
Servings: 4-6
Small can of tuna (125 grams)
½ cup grated cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella)
¼ cup chopped celery
¼ cup chopped red onion or shallots
2 Tbs. Soy sauce
Toasted bread slices
Salt, pepper to taste
For Wasabi Mayonnaise:
1 large egg
1 Tbs. Dijon mustard
1 Tbs. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 cup Canola oil
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Pepper
1 tsp. Sugar
1 Tbs. Fresh grated Wasabi or 100% Real Wasabi Paste
On high speed, blend egg, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper
and sugar. Drizzle the Canola oil in while blending for 5 minutes.
Fold in the fresh grated Wasabi last.
Combine together all the wet ingredients. Season to taste with salt
and pepper.
Add to tuna, cheese, onion and celery, and stir to mix and break up tuna.
Spread mixture on toast. Place under grill until cheese is bubbling.
Serve immediately.
